In Photos: Three Holes at River Club That Can Make or Break Your Round
Tucked away in the heart of Pawleys Island, River Club is a Lowcountry gem known for its scenic beauty—and its ability to test every part of your game. With water lining more than half the holes and risk-reward opportunities around every corner, certain holes can make or break your round. Here are three pivotal holes at River Club—where a well-placed shot can lead to glory, but a misstep might send you searching for your ball in the water (Photos from our Instagram Account captured on 2-25-25, Yardages included are from the back tees)
No. 7, 364 yards, par 4 (top photo)
Water is a constant threat on this short par 4, and a sprawling fairway bunker—guarded by a lone tree—awaits any tee shots pushed right. Whether you choose to attack with a driver or play it safe with an iron, finding the left side of the fairway is key. A well-placed tee shot sets up the opportunity to take an aggressive approach and go after a birdie
No. 15, 409 yards, par 4
This demanding dogleg right is the toughest test on the back nine—if not the entire course. Water looms along the left from tee to green, and the approach requires a forced carry over more trouble. Steady your nerves, commit to your shot, and trust your swing
No. 18, 518-yard, par 5
This celebrated dogleg left offers a tempting chance to reach the green in two—if you have the accuracy and nerve to challenge the water hugging the left side. A bold tee shot can leave you with a short approach of 150 yards or less, but the final test is all carry. For a safer route, favor the right side to keep trouble at bay and set up a routine par to cap off a memorable round.
